Frequently Asked Questions

We recommend an orthodontic check-up by age 7. Most children do not need treatment at this age, but an early assessment allows us to identify any concerns and monitor growth as needed.
Treatment time varies depending on your needs. Most patients wear braces or clear aligners for 12–24 months, although some treatments may be shorter or longer.
Braces do not hurt when they are fitted. We take a gentle approach to treatment, although mild discomfort is common for a few days after placement or adjustments. This usually settles quickly as your teeth adapt.
Braces use fixed brackets and wires, while Invisalign® and other clear aligners use a series of removable clear trays. Both can achieve excellent results when carefully planned and supervised by a specialist orthodontist. We will recommend the most suitable option for your individual needs.
It depends on your individual needs and how consistently aligners are worn. Both braces and Invisalign® or other clear aligner systems can achieve excellent results when planned and supervised by a specialist orthodontist.
Yes. At Advanced Orthodontics, we offer Invisalign® and a range of other clear aligner systems. This allows your specialist orthodontist to select the treatment option best suited to your smile, bite and long-term oral health.
No referral is required. You can book directly with Advanced Orthodontics for an orthodontic consultation.
